Modern Jazz with Two Great Musicians

The last concert of the Jazz Festival will take place on Saturday evening at 8 pm on board the MS HELENE. And expectations are high. None other than Ned Ferm and Anders (AC) Christensen will visit the ship and deliver the goods. 

These two seasoned musicians of modern jazz will once again play together in a duo, each on their main instrument. Ned Ferm on saxophone and Anders (AC) Christensen on double bass have played together for more than 20 years, which is why you can expect a concert with an established musical ensemble from two internationally acclaimed acts.

Ned Ferm left the USA for Denmark in 2021 to study at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. In addition to being a performing musician, he composes, produces, and teaches music. He has played live with a number of big names and participated in several studio recordings with a wide range of musicians.

Anders (AC) Christensen has been active on the Danish jazz scene since the early 1990s, but he has also made a name for himself as a bassist on the international scene. He has also appeared in films, on numerous studio recordings, and composed music for films. 2009 saw his first solo release.

On a trip with Jazz Boat

Get in the festival spirit on board the ship MS HELENE as it transforms into a Jazz Boat and the deck fills with great music.

The city's top jazz talents will visit the ship throughout Aarhus Jazz Festival. The ship leaves the dock and goes on an evening harbor tour around Aarhus Ø and past the old fishing port. All while the paddle wheels complement the wonderful jazz rhythms on board.

The tour starts in the inner harbor and continues to Bassin 7 and the new district of Aarhus Ø.
