An Adventure to the Limit

Let yourself be guided by the warm, enticing sound and lose yourself in a mystical world of flickering torches, mesmerizing rhythms, and exotic soundscapes.

With the pulsating base rhythm of Latin American Cumbia tradition, Junglelyd envelops the stage in everything from heavy bass grooves and danceable electronic excesses to ritual tribal music, tropical flutes, horns, and surf guitar.

In a sublime fusion of organic and modern music, Junglelyd deftly transcends genres such as tropical bass, hip-hop, 1960s surf music, and psychedelic experimental jazz to create catchy melodies over mesmerizing beats in a glowing musical encounter that repeatedly brings the dance floor to life.

This is especially evident in Junglelyd's critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, released on the German label Sounds of Subterrania in 2020. Here, the band collaborated with, respectively, Luna Ersahin (AySay) and Julian Maraboto (Los Fuegos) and successfully pushed the boundaries of their sound universe.

"The album is stylish, danceable and has heart and soul," wrote Beatblogger.de, while German culture magazine CityGuide named the debut "The perfect summer album."

Critics are particularly drawn to Junglelyd's high level of musicality and their ability to translate it into something tangible that keeps the listener in motion. Or as musikglobal.com concludes: "This is the sound of the dance floor, so you don't have to wait for summer when you can dance by yourself right now."

The first single Coffee also made a splash on Danish airwaves, with Vidundergrunden on P3 praising the song's unique quality: "It's absolutely magical, and we're going to keep playing this song!"

The debut album can be seen as the culmination of four playful EPs, and while it received several great critical accolades from both home and abroad, the quality of the music is emphasized by the fact that loyal listeners around the world have acknowledged it with some two million plays on Spotify.

Junglelyd has previously played at Roots & Hybrid Festival, SPOT Festival, Aarhus Festuge, Distortion, and Danish Music Awards World, where they acted as the resident house band. In addition, the band has performed live in Germany and Ghana. Now, they are ready to bring the dance floor to life once again.
