What's the Point of the Trumpet ... ?

This band is an intimate exploration of harmony, beats, trumpet, and analog synthesis made to ask the question: What's the point of the trumpet in 2023? – And if art, music, and improvisation are a mirror of today's society, how does that translate into a "jazz" quartet?

Shapes and colors interact in a vibrant display of musical talent as the quartet explores and unfolds the contemporary yet simple compositions of Jonas Due. The band is both a modern musical statement and a testament to musical history and culture – drawing inspiration from Danish church music, synthetic house, R&B, pop, and bebop.

Jonas formed the band out of a deep desire to start over and create something fresh that could turn into something surprising. He chose band members who didn't know each other, expanding the overall musical palette given each musician's unique and unaffected tastes. The band came together for the first time in the summer of 2022 to play a handful of concerts during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

In February 2023, the group toured Denmark and Sweden in preparation for going into the studio to record their debut album.
