Two Swedish jazz giants, pianist Jan Lundgren and bassist Hans Backenroth, celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 1964 album Jazz på svenska by Swedish pianist Jan Johansson with this concert. The album is the top-selling Swedish jazz album of all time - a Scandinavian phenomenon and a milestone in Swedish music. Jan Johansson's jazz version of Swedish and other folk music became one of his signatures.

In this concert with pianist Jan Lundgren, Jan Johansson's classic versions of both Swedish and Hungarian folk music are rejuvenated. The idea is not to imitate Johansson as a model but to pay tribute and add new dimensions through Lundgren's carefully refined piano playing. Jan Johansson regularly worked with bassist and composer Georg Riedel. Here, Hans Backenroth will play the key role with his double bass.
