Mydtskov & Flensborg - Lyrical Jazz with a Nordic Sound
Musicians Hans Mydtskov and Pojken Flensborg have a long history of working together, including in the band Nordens Tone and the Pojken Flensborg Quintet. Now, they have begun a duo collaboration, which has resulted in the album Northern, released last year.
They both composed the music and it is - as the name suggests - inspired by the special atmosphere of Nordic jazz music. But it is also a personal and contemporary take on modern jazz expression - with a strong emphasis on lyrical expression and the sound of the instruments.
