Hejlesen / Lundh / Turp / Hagelskjær play original compositions with a strong influence from the Scandinavian jazz tradition. The band consists of four young, up-and-coming musicians Mads Lundh (tenor saxophone), Casper Hejlesen (guitar), Simon Turp (double bass), and Gustav Hagelskjær (drums), who have won several awards and have performed with some of Denmark's greatest jazz musicians.

They have each developed a distinctive musical voice, which contributes to the personal sound and an edgy expression of the quartet. Their music speaks to the Nordic melancholy and is played with great sensitivity and attention. The quartet has built a strong and controlled ensemble that shines when the music opens up and reaches into uncharted territory.
