Steen Rasmussen Trio was born in a recording studio during Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2023. The three musicians clicked instantly and - almost playfully - recorded 10 tracks, composed by the bandleader. The results burst with joyful energy and a sound that everyone can relate to - a juicy Brazilian piano trio from the 1960s with melodic elements from the contemporary Nordic jazz tradition.

Steen Rasmussen's musical starting point is a combination of Brazilian joie de vivre and Nordic melancholy. The members of the trio - all icons of the Danish and Brazilian music scene - are known as standard-bearers for the great joy of playing and pleasant contemplation.

Most people know Steen Rasmussen from Milton på Svenska with singer Josefine Cronholm and Steen Rasmussen Quinteto. The latter has been at the forefront of its genre for 10 years, has toured Denmark, Spain, and Brazil, released seven albums, received countless top reviews, and been nominated for DMA-JAZZ and CARL PRISEN. Throughout his career, Steen has collaborated with major Brazilian artists such as Paulo Braga, Joyce Moreno, and Leo Minax, and has also played with well-known Danish pop artists such as Lis Sørensen, Danseorkestret, and Søs Fenger.

Kaspar Vadsholt has played with household names such as Hans Ulrik, Jens Winther, and The Orchestra, but is probably best known as a member of the DR Bigband, where he has accompanied a wide range of world stars such as Robben Ford, Michel Camilo, Criss Potter, and John Scofield.

Celso De Almeida plays with Brazilian superstars such as Rosa Passos, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, and Eliane Elias, with whom he won a Latin Grammy in 2017. We should all be proud to have such a force perform in Denmark.
