Madmoiselle de Paris – 3.30 - 4.30 PM

With singer and actress Stinne Henriksen at the helm, Mademoiselle De Paris embodies the meaning francophilia. Carried on the wings of the legacy of, first and foremost, Edith Piaf, the band takes the audience on an evocative journey under Paris' skies and bridges. A journey that is about love for each other, for the city, for life, and for music.

The beautiful melodies and songs receive instrumental backing from Kristian Rusbjerg's impressive accordion-playing mixed with Jacob Venndt's original mouth organ handling and guitar-inspired bass playing. A wonderful mix of virtuosity, passion, mood, and culture!

In addition to the French repertoire, Mademoiselle De Paris also adds Danish classics in French disguises such as Forelsket i København and Den Allersidste Dans. But also instrumental interpretations of great melodies from the classical and folkloristic repertoire find their place in the band's musical treasure chest.

3 x Piano – 5.00 - 6.00 PM

True to tradition, there can be no jazz festival in Aarhus without a couple of concerts with the legendary trio 3 x Piano with Hans Esbjerg, Pojken Flensborg, and Mads Bærentzen at the keys. And this year is no exception.

The three gentlemen have been playing these concerts for more than 15 years, featuring a different theme each time. This year, the two concerts will be a tribute to pianist Chick Corea, who died in February. He certainly left his mark on the jazz world through a long career, both as a pianist and composer. The trio will perform a number of his legendary compositions, many of which have become true jazz classics.

About the jazz concerts in St. Luke's Church

Once again, Piano Værkstedet and St. Luke's Church have the pleasure of being able to host three days of jazz concerts as part of Aarhus Jazz Festival. Last year, the concerts that are usually held in the piano shop were moved to St. Luke's Church due to the Covid restrictions. It turned out to be such a great success that we have decided to repeat the setup this year.

Three afternoons of double concerts featuring both established acts and a couple of upcoming talents on the Danish music scene.
