In the spirit of Erroll Garner

The piano trio Gunde On Garner plays in the spirit of the world-famous pianist Erroll Garner. They play songs that were played by Erroll Garner, or that could have been played by Garner if only he had known them.

By following up on what Garner did, and starting with a good melody regardless of whether it comes from the world of jazz, rock, or pop, Gunde On Garner gets close to a musical style worthy of the master himself.

The trio, led by Henrik Gunde, one of the country's busiest jazz musicians, to a great extent also contribute their own take on things, carried forward by Nicolas Kock and Karsten Bagge's swinging and energetic playing.

In addition to well-known jazz classics, there will be songs by the likes of Kai Normann Andersen, Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, Norah Jones, Billy Joel, Gasolin / Kim Larsen, Abba, and many more.

In 2021, Gunde On Garner celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of world-renowned pianist Erroll Garner. The year will be marked by tours in Denmark and abroad. Århus Jazzklub is proud to be able to stage this big jazz event.
