Nordic jazz with inspirations from all over the world

Frekvens is a trio based in Aalborg. Though they have played with many different artists over the years, the three gentlemen's love of improvisational music has brought them together. 

Frekvens cultivates ensemble playing and good melodies. The expression is distinctly Nordic but draws on inspirations from all over the world.

At this concert, Frekvens will be joined by Mikkel Leth-Nissen. As a pianist, he adds color to the band's sound and will take it in new directions.

Mikkel Leth-Nissen is a graduate pianist from the Music Institute in Los Angeles. He grew up with jazz and instrumental music but has dabbled in all genres. With his own band New Fuzz, he draws inspiration from the music of Africa and India.
