Minimal and repetitive

GESH – Maria Bertel & Jaleh Negari – is a new duo featuring two members of the noise rock band Selvhenter. The instrumentation consists of drums and amplified trombone in addition to synthesizers. The music moves within the minimal and the repetitive. 

Maria Bertel is a Danish trombonist and composer who works with sound structures, amplified as well as acoustic. She is one of the five co-founders of the work community eget værelse (2010).

Marie Bertel performs solo, in the groups G.E.K, Selvhenter, Vladislav Delay, and The BIG Yes and as a duo with French guitarist Nina Garcia. In addition, there are several more event-based projects.

Jaleh Negari is a Danish-Iranian composer, drummer, and sound artist who works as a solo artist, in the band Selvhenter, the performance group Meshes, and with visual and sound artist Felia Gram-Hanssen in the art project Fungal Network.

Negari holds a Master in Composition from RMC 2018 and is co-founder of the work community eget værelse.
