From folk high school songs to free improvisation

The first time Jenny Peitersen and Halfdan Stefansson met was when they performed at a concert with the Aarhus-based collective for improvised music, Kalas. By chance, they ended up playing as a duo, and from that first meeting, the music flowed.

Having played together for a while, both as a duo and in other constellations, they have refined and explored their sound together. This evening, their sound is presented through their first concert in the duo format.

The two musicians share a love of strong melodies and a musical expression that both embraces and challenges the listener. The music will consist of new interpretations of folk high school songs and jazz standards, as well as their own compositions and free improvisation.

All are delivered with a playful and open approach to the music, giving it new life each time and drawing on a wide range of genres without prejudice.
