Quintet Jazz led by a Saxophone

Saxophonist and composer Christian Vuust has been active on the Scandinavian jazz scene for more than three decades. In recent years, he has toured extensively in Japan. He has performed with the likes of Aaron Parks, Ben Street, Pablo Held, Peter Laugesen, Kazumi Ikenaga, Pauseland, Lars Jansson, and Alex Riel.

Christian is an associate professor at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, where he teaches saxophone and music theory. He studied at Berklee College of Music from 1990-91 with George Garzone, Herb Pomeroy, Hal Crook, Joe Viola, and Jerry Bergonzi.

With his mature and expressive playing style on the tenor saxophone, Christian has established a solid reputation on the Danish jazz scene. He is particularly known for exploring the special Nordic tone, has recorded 10 albums as a bandleader, and been featured on more than 80 as a sideman.
