International jazz trio

Gawlik / Stefansson / Wankel is an international trio based in Berlin. The band originated at the Jazz-Institut Berlin.

All members are well-known figures on the German jazz scene and have played with numerous big names in Europe, such as Jim Black, Loren Stillman, NDR Bigband, and Jeff Ballard.

The band draws inspiration from German avant-garde, Danish / Nordic melodic music, and American swing tradition.

Their original compositions can therefore be seen as an attempt to bring all these expressions together, creating a new framework for the music.

Friendship and humanity are at the forefront of the music, creating an energy that can be felt by both the audience and the musicians.
