Saxophonist and composer Maria Faust is best known for her award-winning, large-scale contemporary jazz ensembles, including Sacrum Facere, Machina, and Jazz Catastrophe.

Originally founded in 2012 as a contemporary big band, Faust's Jazz Catastrophe project is now in its third mutation. Concentrated and reduced to its essence like a thick syrup, the new and powerfully dense music is presented by a trio variant of Jazz Catastrophe with Lars Pilgaard on guitar, Anders Vestergaard on drums, and Maria Faust on alto saxophone.

Charismatic and eccentric Maria Faust (born 1979) is one of the most celebrated Estonian musicians of all time and the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors. Her work and unique musical language as a composer and improviser is easily recognizable, yet challenging to describe due to her inventiveness and wide range of influences.

For many years, Jacinta Madsen has worked with communication for children and young people, including on the popular children's TV channel Ramasjang. Alongside this, she has experimented with transforming music into visual art - and vice versa.

She works as a visual artist and illustrator and has recently published two children's books with her own illustrations - including Lille Træ, which was nominated for the Ministry of Culture's Illustrator Award 2023.

About LilleJazz

LilleJazz is a new initiative that presents concerts in a space where both children and adults can listen and be present. There will be quiet activities for children and you can can come and go as you please, but the concert, which is not specifically targeted at children, will be the main focus. It is experimental music for children and their adults, adults and their children, and for adults without children.

This concert is interactive, as both the music and visual arts are created in a symbiotic relationship. Audience members can draw to the music – and parts of the concert will be directly inspired by the visual art produced.

Children are admitted free of charge, while adults pay 80 DKK. However, each child that you accompany gets you a 20 DKK discount.
