Free Improvisation with Two Strong Musical Personalities

Swiss pianist Margaux Oswald and Danish saxophonist Lotte Anker meet for the second time in a freely improvised concert. It will be an encounter of the highest caliber that you won't want to miss.

Margaux Oswald is a Swiss pianist with French-Filipino roots who now lives in Copenhagen. Margaux has been playing piano since the age of five and has now dedicated herself to free improvisation. Her album Dysphotic Zone, released on Clean Feed Records, was named one of the best solo albums of 2022 by New York City Jazz Record and ranked in the top 10 best international albums of the year by Jazz.pt.

Lotte Anker is a Copenhagen-based Danish saxophonist working in the space between experimental jazz / improvisation and contemporary art music. Her music contains both melodic elements (often distorted or fragmented) and more abstract textures and spans a wide spectrum from minimalist transparent to dense and dark expressionism. Lotte Anker has led a number of critically acclaimed collaborations and bands such as Anker, Taborn, Cleaver (with Craig Taborn and Gerald Cleaver), What River Ensemble, Sub Habitat, and others. In 2022, she received the Danish Arts Foundation's Honorary Grant.
