Tribute to one of jazz's greatest

In 2020, jazz icon Charlie Parker would have been 100 years old. To celebrate and honor one of the greatest and most important jazz musicians ever, alto saxophonist Oilly Wallace has assembled a quartet with some of the most talented young bebop musicians from Denmark and Sweden.

The quartet plays Charlie Parker compositions as well as jazz standards that Parker recorded.

In recent years, Oilly Wallace has established himself as one of the great talents on the Danish jazz scene. In addition to his own bands and releases, of which his debut Fiol Sessions led to a nomination as “New Jazz Name of the Year” at the Danish Music Awards Jazz in 2016, he also plays as a sideman in countless acts.

With him on stage, Wallace brings an outstanding team consisting of Swedish virtuoso pianist Calle Brickman, rock-solid bassist Matthias Petri, and Andreas Svendsen on drums.
