Young big band talents unfold

Experience the budding talents from Jazzfabrikken's Big Band Camp 2021 under the direction of Nikolaj Bentzon and vocal soloist Signe Juhl for a bang of a big band concert.

The participants in Jazzfabrikken's Big Band Camp rehearse together throughout Aarhus Jazz Festival. Here, they meet on stage for the culmination of a full week's work with lots of jazz, learning, and community. The young jazz talents come from all over the country and are carefully selected from several applicants.

Nikolaj Bentzon studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, was the artistic director and conductor of DR Big Band and is, among other things. known for Bentzon Brotherhood. He has also played with Clark Terry, Maria Schneider, Toots Thielemans, Joe Lovano, Carla Bley, Jon Faddis, and many more. Nikolaj Bentzon conducts Jazzfabrikken's Big Band Camp 2021.

Signe Juhl is one of the most sought-after vocalists in Denmark. At the age of 20, she was admitted to the National Academy of Music and has subsequently taken Denmark by storm through her work with DR Big Band, the Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Slesvigske Musikkkorps, The Orchestra, and Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. Signe Juhl is the soloist for the Jazz Factory's Big Band Camp 2021.

Jazzfabrikken's Big Band Camp is an initiative from Jazzfabrikken - a three-year regional development project starting in 2019, which is intended to help strengthen the musical supply chain and talent development within rhythmic music. The project has a special focus on talent development at all levels and is a collaboration between Aarhus Jazz Orchestra, The Royal Academy of Music, and Aarhus Musikskole. Jazzfabrikken is supported by the Central Jutland Region.

Koncerten can be experieced at Atlas 14 July 20:00 or at Ridehuset 16 July 14:00 as a part of Ridehuset Swinger, which delivers great musical experiences and good vibes at Aarhus Jazz Festival. Ridehuset Swinger is organized by Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.
