A playful and balanced mix of genres
OTOOTO (Sound Sound in Japanese) is the latest newcomer in Danish jazz.
Since the band was formed in 2019, they have gotten recognition from radio stations and reviewers. As early as November 2020, they were able to look back on a year with a myriad of concerts and three single releases.
The sound of OTOOTO is defined by Oilly Wallace and Jonas Due's lyrical and light melodies paired with a distinctive sound of the legendary vintage synthesizer Juno 106. Add some strong neosoul/R&B groove and the stage is set.
The songs fill the listener with a sense of hope and joy, while the music unfolds in a harmonious and playful way.
On May 21, 2021, OTOOTO releases its upcoming debut album This Love Is For You. The album features 11 tracks that take the listener deep into a playful and balanced mix of genres ranging from Westcoast synthpop to hand-played jazz of international caliber.
OTOOTO is a unique constellation that presents five notable profiles in Danish jazz in a way that has not been seen before.
