Trio jazz with three giants of modern music

The musicians in this trio have played together for 20 years since Ned Ferm moved to Denmark from the US in 2001. Their multifaceted collaboration spans genres, generations, and artistic forms of expression from TV and podcasts to multimedia – and of course concerts and albums.

This is an opportunity to experience three giants of modern music when they perform live with the instruments that have helped define their careers.

Ned Ferm is an American musician, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He is best known for his saxophone playing in jazz, roots, rock, pop, and improvised music. Since 2001, Copenhagen has been his permanent base. He was the first American to be admitted to the prestigious Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC), where he completed three different programs. His contributions to the American and European saxophone tradition have received global recognition from both audiences and colleagues. Ned Ferm's career has included collaborations both live and in-studio with a wide range of artists across generations and genres, including Yusef Lateef, Billy Taylor, Hal Russell, Don Doane, Roswell Rudd, Bent Jædig, Harold Mabern, Airto Moriera, and Hugo Rasmussen.

Kresten Osgood is an extraordinary drummer and improviser who challenges genres and traditions, but at the same time respects them deeply. He has appeared on more than 100 albums, toured all over the world, and performed and recorded with legends such as Roscoe Mitchell, Paul Bley, William Parker, Joe Lovano, Derek Bailey, Wadada Leo Smith, Jason Moran, Kenny Barron, and Chris Potter. In addition, he is known as a rapper, composer, pianist, singer, saxophonist, and trumpeter – a true multi-instrumentalist. He also organizes festivals, concerts, and more. Kresten Osgood has received several awards, including the Ben Webster-prisen award, Djbfa's Honorary Award, and Steppeulven.

Anders AC Christensen is an internationally renowned bassist, composer, and producer who has been featured on more than 140 recordings. He is best known from jazz contexts, where he has performed with legends such as Paul Motian, Tomasz Stanko, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jakob Bro, Tom Harrell, Joe Lovano, Billy Hart, and Lee Konitz. He is also known for his contributions to the rock and pop genre with, among others, The Raveonettes, The Savage Rose, Sort Sol, and Kira Skov. In relation to the collaboration with Nicolaj and Mikkel Hess in the trio Spacelab, the three musicians have for long been co-organizers of the annual Summer Session Jazz Camp in Denmark, where professional musicians from all over the world meet.
