From Toots to Infinity
Experience the Mathias Heise Quartet as they take on Toots Thieleman's impressive backlog, which contains both big hits and exciting, original compositions.
Toots Thielemans has left a significant mark on jazz history with his unique handling of the chromatic mouth harp. On his own, he managed to combine this strange instrument with bebop and modern jazz and thus became one of jazz's great frontrunners and a sought-after studio musician.
Mathias Heise is an award-winning Danish mouth organist and has won the world championship in chromatic jazz harp. In addition, many regard him as Toots' successor. On this evening, in the company of an excellent group of musicians, he will continue the legacy of the famous Belgian and show what the future holds for this special instrument.
The concert is part of Ridehuset Swinger, which will once again deliver great musical experiences and good vibes. Ridehuset Swinger is organized by Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.
