Eliel Williams Lazo Linares (known as Eliel Lazo or "Gods Hands") is a Cuban percussionist, songwriter, composer, producer, as well as jazz, rock, Latin, and pop musician who lives in Denmark.
Eliel Lazio is one of today's most unique percussionists. In 2011, he received the DMA World award for his album El Conguero (Stunt Records). He also won the International Percussion Percuba Prize.
Throughout his career, he has worked with musicians such as Oscar Valdes, Chucho Valdes, Herbie Hancock, Bob Mintzer, Wayne Shorter, Michel Camilo, and bands such as Diakara, Habana Ensemble, DR Big band, WDR Big band, BBC Big band The Savage Rose, The Antonelli Orchestra, and Mikkel Nordsø Band.
In 2008, the newspaper Havana Times named Eliel Lazo one of Cuba's top percussionists.
Summer jazz festival at Klostertorvet
On Friday 9 July, Café Smagløs kicks off a week-long festival with music and good times on the city's coziest square. The square has been set up according to COVID-19 rules and we look forward to seeing you.
Through Saturday 17 July, our wonderful guests will be able to experience outdoor concerts and enjoy beer, wine, food, and cocktails at the tables.
