Jazz history, beautifully tied together

Few can trace Coltrane all the way to the modern jazz scene. But for this afternoon's Musikhuset Swing, the now 72-year-old American saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi beautifully ties together the history of jazz.

For the past 50 years, he has toured the world as a well-playing sideman and as a soloist in his own right. As former member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet, he has spent the last decade touring and releasing albums with the Nordic line-up of Modern Jazz Trio.

His latest release is the live album Straight Gonz, recorded at the Dexter venue in Odense. This afternoon, they're making sure that Musikhuset Swings during this year's festival.
