Jazz in Generationernes Hus – Day 2

3.00 PM: Malthe Jepsen Trio

Malthe Jepsen is the newest star on the Aarhus jazz scene. In February 2022, he received the Jazz Talent of the Year award, and in 2021 he released his debut album Fluidity.

At this concert, there will be both a solo section with Malthe and a section with his regular trio, where he is joined by two other major talents on the Aarhus jazz scene: bassist Adrian Christensen and drummer Frederik Bülow.

The style is modern, virtuosic, and musically uncompromising. 

4.15 PM: Camilla Dayyani Group

Singer and composer Camilla Dayyani has assembled this group of amazing musicians to play her music.

Throughout her career, Camilla Dayyani has been preoccupied with writing music for poetry. Great Danish lyricists such as Pia Tafdrup, Piet Hein, Dan Turéll, and Henrik Pontoppidan have been behind the lyrics of her previous albums.

Currently, the group is working on a new album where she has written music to Persian poetry by great internationally renowned poets such as Rumi, Khayyam, and Farrakhzad.

The concert will be a mix of music for both Danish and Persian poems.

Camilla Dayyani Group is concerned with capturing the present moment in its approach to music. The lyrics are given new life at each concert, and the improvisational element adds new moods to the music along the way. 

A glass of wine will be served during the intermission. This year, it will be possible to buy a jazz platter (follow ticket link), which can be enjoyed after the shows.

The event will take place in Øens Madhus, which is housed in the Generationernes Hus, and there will be possible to sit both inside and outside in the maritime setting of Aarhus Ø.
