Live-affirming and hand-played modern jazz

Normally, this band performs as a trio, but in the last year the group has started a collaboration with the excellent drummer Jesper Bo Knudsen  and at this concert also the virtuoso saxophonist Jesper Løvdal – to give the music an extra boost. 

Thus, the New Sun Jazz Trio becomes the New Sun Jazz Quintet. A band that shares a common passion for life-affirming, hand-played, and extroverted modern jazz that draws parallels to the jazz of the 60s from New York, Paris, and Rio de Janeiro.

In original contemporary arrangements, New Sun Jazz Quintet demonstrates how jazz can be simultaneously local, global, and timeless in its joyful and playful invitation to dance, dream, and drink. In this concert, the band focuses on a Latin and bossa repertoire.
