Late Night Jazz Jam - Samuel Kiel (DK/US/NOSA)
David Truilo (t-sax), Oscar Wetche (p), Samuel Kiel (b), Magnus Austad (drm), and many others
Join in the jazz festival's traditional musical free play
At the jazz festival's nightly jam sessions, Danish and international musicians from near and far come together in new constellations and play music to the delight of both themselves and their audience.
Each night has its own jam host, who will welcome musicians and crowds to join in the musical fun. A competent team of musicians will get the party started. Then the jam starts.
Grab your instrument, or "butter up" your vocals, and join in the musical celebration. A piano, drum kit, guitar, and bass amplifiers, and microphones are available on stage.
This evening's host is Samuel Kiel - a promising Danish bass player living in Aarhus. He seeks to create his own voice through jazz music that is deeply rooted in tradition. This is what he will try to do when he hits HeadQuarters with the band European Connection consisting of American David Truilo (saxophone), Danish Oscar Wetche (piano), and Norwegian Magnus Austad (drums).
