Maybe a guitar is Capable of More than You Think...

Anna Roemer has a unique approach to her instrument, insisting that the guitar can do much more than the listener thinks. Together with her Jazzmaster and pedal board, she pushes the boundaries of what a solo guitarist can do. 

Many audiences, musicians, and critics already know Anna Roemer as one half of the band KALEIIDO, in which she plays with saxophonist Cecilie Strange – a critically acclaimed duo whose tenet is that music must always change in time, space, and place.

As a result, their concerts feature rotating guest musicians from the upper echelons of the Danish jazz scene. The band debuted with the critically acclaimed album Voyage in 2021, followed by Elements in 2022 – an album that also created a stir and excitement among critics nationally and abroad. 

In early October 2022, Anna Roemer released her debut solo album Azure, exploring the musical possibilities of both acoustic and electric guitar. GAFFA has called it a virtuoso Danish debut album and gave it a five-star review. The record has also been the album of the week on P8Jazz. On Azure, listeners experience Anna Roemer's patience, strength, and vulnerability as a solo artist, which she also brings to the stage when she plays live. 

Most of the music features large, expansive soundscapes and productions, sprinkled with beautiful details and melodies that sometimes unfold in unconventional and delightfully unexpected directions.
