Swinging Duo Jazz with Well-Known Standards

Spend the afternoon in the company of two of Denmark's most talented jazz musicians, pianist Henrik Gunde and Peter Vuust on double bass, who will play songs from the standard jazz repertoire.

Henrik Gunde is one of the country's finest musicians, who fits into all formats and masters most styles. And he is also gifted with a rare formidable swing. It is clear that Gunde has studied the rhythms and musical approach of the old masters, but without compromising his own originality. Most recently, he and Jakob Munck were nominated for a Grammy in the special releases category for their album Frit efter ... Carl Nielsen. Gunde is also known for his many years of playing the piano in DR Big Band.

Peter Vuust is a professor at Aarhus University and the Royal Academy of Music and head of the Center for Music in the Brain. He has played on more than 100 records and with international jazz stars such as Tim Hagans, Mal Waldron, Ted Curson, and Jukkis Uotila. He is known for his groovy and responsive backing and extremely melodic soloing. Peter has also been nominated for a DMA for the CD September Song.
