Jazz Trio Led by One of the Country's Best Jazz Singers 

Veronica Mortensen has a warmth and a distinctive quality to her voice that is always worth a listen. The collaboration with bassist Peter Vuust has resulted in many concerts and the release of three CDs, of which September Songs (2013) was nominated for a DMA in the category Danish Vocal Jazz of the Year.  

Henrik Gunde is gifted with a rare formidable swing. It is clear that Gunde has studied the rhythms and musical approach of the old masters, but without compromising his own originality. Most recently, he and Jakob Munck were nominated for a Grammy in the special releases category for their album Frit efter ... Carl Nielsen. Gunde is also known for his many years of playing the piano in DR Big Band.

To complete the evening's trio, Mikkel Vuust joins on drums. Mikkel Vuust is one of Denmark's most talented young drummers. Despite his young age, he has played with names like Jakob Fisher, Uffe Steen, Henrik Gunde, and Sinne Eeg. He currently studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and recently released the album Further To Fly with 5 x Vuust.
