A Shining American Jazz Talent
Discover American Champian Fulton with her Scandinavian super trio. She is not only a huge jazz talent, but also a charming and captivating performer.
On this special occasion, the Champian Fulton Trio will be joined by a guest soloist in the form of Swedish saxophonist Klas Lindquist. Klas is one of Sweden's most sought-after jazz saxophonists and is in a class of his own.
Champian Fulton was immersed in jazz from an early age. Her father, jazz trumpeter Stephen Fulton, was a close friend of jazz musicians such as Major Holley and Clark Terry, who inspired the young Fulton. At just 10 years old, Champian made her professional debut at Terry's 75th birthday party, and since then, the young Oklahoma jazz talent has continued to flourish.
Fulton has captivated audiences at New York's finest jazz clubs and concert halls around the world, as well as appearing at countless jazz festivals and performing with jazz icons such as Lou Donaldson, Frank Wess, and Buster Williams. On this evening, you can experience her on Cafe Støj's small intimate jazz stage.
"An assured vocalist with a galvanizing presence," The New Yorker praised, while the Detroit Free Press calls Fulton the most talented jazz singer of her generation.
You are in for a terrific evening as Champian Fulton delves into the American songbook and delivers her personal and utterly charming interpretations. Fulton is not only a brilliant talent as a singer and pianist – she is also a highly engaging performer.
