Modern Duo Jazz

This duo is part of the trio Human Being Human (Bjørnskov / Bülow / Tjalve), which recently released the album Equals.  

Torben Bjørnskov is a musician, composer, and one of Denmark's most sought-after bass players. He has performed and toured most of the world with musicians from many countries, especially the USA and Scandinavia. Concerts have ranged from small clubs to large international venues such as the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Royal Festival Hall in London. In addition, he participates in studio and live recordings, including solo albums.

Esben Tjalve is a trained pianist from The Royal Academy Of Music's jazz department in London. Esben has been part of the English jazz scene for 17 years and the Aarhus jazz scene for the past five. Esben has released 2 CDs with his international group Red Kite.

On a trip with Jazz Boat

Get in the festival spirit on board the ship MS HELENE as it transforms into a Jazz Boat and the deck fills with great music.

The city's top jazz talents will visit the ship throughout Aarhus Jazz Festival. The ship leaves the dock and goes on an evening harbor tour around Aarhus Ø and past the old fishing port. All while the paddle wheels complement the wonderful jazz rhythms on board.

The tour starts in the inner harbor and continues to Bassin 7 and the new district of Aarhus Ø.
