Trio Jazz with Exciting Special Guests
The new, young trio constellation Dayyani / Dayyani / Kiel will be at VinDanmark for two days in a row during the jazz festival. In the company of various Special Guests, they will play music from a mixed repertoire of their own modern compositions and interpretations of the American standard tradition.
On Sunday, the group will be joined by prominent Aarhus saxophonist Christian Vuust, and on Monday, the young and talented singer Elvira Skovsang will lead the group with her breathtaking vocals.
Guitarist Carlo Dayyani is originally from Aarhus but now lives in Berlin, where he studies at the Jazz Institute. This summer, he returns to the Aarhus Jazz Festival to play a series of concerts in various constellations.
Despite his young age, Carlo is well known for his virtuoso qualities on the instrument, which go far beyond traditional guitar playing and draw associations to the world of classical music.
Samuel Kiel is a Danish bassist based in Amsterdam. Rooted in tradition, he explores an authentic sound through improvisation and ensemble playing. In Amsterdam, he learns from the likes of Clemens van der Veen and Jesse van Ruller. He has previously played with musicians such as Thomas Fryland and Cesar Joaniquet, and is also a prolific composer, releasing an album this summer with his eight-piece band.
Drummer Antonio Dayyani has quickly emerged as an interesting new voice on the Danish jazz scene with his solo project, where he has been praised by critics and radio hosts alike for his original, lyrical compositions, and organic sound. His debut album Herfra kan det kun gå to veje was on Jazznyt's list of the 10 best Danish jazz releases of 2022 and has also been frequently played on P8 Jazz.
