Argentine Tango with a Nordic Tone and a Touch of Salsa

For a quarter of a century, Patricio Moya Obel and Signe Gjesing have played together in the CheTango Trio, which has performed at numerous concerts in Denmark and abroad and has represented Denmark at international tango festivals (Cumbre Mundiales de Tango) in Argentina, Spain, Chile, and Finland.

Now they have formed a duo with new arrangements of both classic tangos and their own compositions, combining Argentine tango with a Nordic tone and a touch of jazz and salsa.

Patricio Moya Obel is a Chilean-Spanish pianist who studied music in Santiago with teachers from Chile, Spain, and the USA. Today he runs the Aarhus Piano Academy.

As a musician, Patricio has participated in numerous TV programs and has also produced TV and radio commercials in Chile.

His love of tango stems from his father, who is a tango musician.

Signe Gjesing is a trained electric and double bassist from the Royal Academy of Music in Jutland. She has danced the tango for many years and has been playing, arranging, and composing tango since 1999. During study trips to Buenos Aires in 2003-2005 she studied tango techniques for double bass with Oscar Giunta (from Horacio Salgán's Nuevo Quinteto Real) and Roberto Tormo. She has also studied vocals with Anne Rosing.

Signe works as a musician, composer, and publishing editor.
