Curious Strings that Cross Cultures

World On A String brings together three string instruments from different backgrounds: electric guitar, oud, and saz come together in a shared love of music and curiosity about the music of other cultures. Genres and traditions are mixed, creating new music and expressions.

The music is inspired by the history of all stringed instruments from Turkish and Syrian folk and classical to jazz and rock, and a wide variety of playing techniques will be used.

The pieces contain both fully composed passages and improvised sections where the four musicians improvise based on their own backgrounds.

The three musicians have long careers in their respective fields and have all received rave reviews.
