Intense, Intimate, and Terrific Jazz

Virtuoso guitarist Morten Haugshøj has assembled a terrific trio for Aarhus Jazz Festival consisting of two sublime musicians from Aalborg, the jazz capital of Northern Jutland: award-winning bassist and composer Kenneth Dahl Knudsen and talented drummer Matias Fischer, both of whom have international experience from European tours with several projects and bands.

We can only encourage you to keep an eye out for the two musicians from Northern Jutland, where Kenneth Dahl Knudsen in particular has already made a significant and indisputable mark on Danish jazz, both as a composer and bassist, but also as an arranger and entrepreneur.

At the concert, the trio will play original compositions on the fly, especially by Haugshøj, but everyone will contribute with original music. There will be a few jazz standards that the musicians love to play, which they tug and tear to see how far the batter can be stretched into new shapes without falling apart.
