Music and dance between jazz and avant-garde. One of the Aarhus music scene’s most experimental classical ensembles, Århus Sinfonietta, has, in collaboration with the dance studio in Bissengade, created a programme with music and dance from the fertile frontier of jazz and avant-garde. For this occasion, Århus Sinfonietta will consist of four musicians – trombone, guitar, piano and drums – a small jazz combo utilised in a different and untraditional manner. Music that lays tracks – new tracks - written by George Crumb, Einar Trærup Sark, Bent Sørensen, Gorm Askjær, and others. The concert is part of Nye Spor (New Directions), a joint project between Aarhus Jazz Festival, Aarhus Unge Tonekunstnere (young sound artists of Aarhus), Århus Sinfonietta and Dance Studio Aarhus. New Directions is supported by Augustinus Fonden and DJBFA / Composers and Songwriters.
