Weather Report Project (DK)
Denmark's brightest forecast
Weather Report Project pays tribute to the holy grail of fusion music and presents a show with the legendary fusion band's best and most melodic tunes to the delight of any true Weather Report fan.
Many fondly remember Weather Report and not least its three main characters: Joe Zawinul on Keyboards, Wayne Shorter on sax, and Jaco Pastorius on bass. Weather Report Project will deliver a musical experience from an incredible time - live and at full blast.
Weather Report was one of the world's most successful instrumental bands from the 70s and 80s. The album Heavy Weather made Weather Report the first fusion band to achieve rockstar-level popularity.
Weather Report used to tour around the globe and had smash hits such as Birdland, A Remark You Made, Teen Town, and Boogie Woogie Waltz, which to this day can still be heard on TV and radio.
Weather Report Project's repertoire stems primarily from this golden age. The band has built up a large, loyal, and engaged crowd and performed at Aarhus Jazz Festival and Copenhagen Jazz Festival in 2016.
In 2016, Aarhus Stifstidende wrote:
'To Weather Report fans, this was almost like experiencing the band live at full blast! For everyone else, this perfectly delivered was jazz/funk/fusion by Danish Weather Report Project. A filled concert hall gave two standing ovations and the band returned the favour with two encores.'
Henrik Lynbech (key), Ole Visby (sax), Claus Nauer Reher-Langberg (b), Thomas Ousager (perc), Sune Rahbek (drm)
