Caro Emerald & Aarhus Jazz Orchestra (NL/UK/DK)
A wonderful time hop to the heyday of jazz - Opening concert
Every year, the opening concert at Aarhus Jazz Festival is a unique experience with a large live jazz band and international stars visiting Aarhus. A wonderful and incredible journey through time to the heyday of jazz.
Caro Emerald's musical work lives up to that predicament. Like few others, she nails timeless melodies and songs that can send you back to the 1920s Gatsby universe one moment and the 50s and 60s beat generation the other. She masters several decades of sound and manages to make it current in 2018.
Caro Emerald got her breakthrough when she recorded a demo in 2007 that turned out to be the hit Back It Up. It planted the seed to the debut album Deleted Scene's From the Cutting Room Floor, which appeared in 2010 and also included the songs A Night Like This, whose music video has rounded 24 million views on YouTube, and That Man.
Since then, another studio album has been released and last year Caro Emerald published the eminent LP Emerald Island.
