Karmen Rõivassepp is an Estonian jazz vocalist, composer, arranger and big band leader, who has cemented her name on the Aarhus jazz scene over the six years that she has been living in Denmark.

She is known for her instrument-like vocals, clear sound and always playful nature.

Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet was nominated for new Danish jazz act of the year at DMA Jazz 2018 for the debut album Dance of Sounds and was recently the first recipient of the Aarhus Jazz Talent Award.

Karmen grew up listening to music in many different styles and has always had a weakness for Brazilian music.

At this concert, you can expect to be taken on a journey through Brazilian musical landscapes, where the musicians explore the many facets of this exciting musical culture: Jobim, Edu Lobo, Joyce, Marcos Valle and many other well-known characters on the Brazilian music scene.
