These are few of the critic's reactions following the release of Steen Rasmussen Quinteto's most recent album Canta.
In 2019, Steen Rasmussen was nominated for the Carl Prisen-award for jazz composer of the year for his work on Canta. As hinted by the title, vocals and the blend of Nordic melancholy and Brazilian saudade take center stage.
Since the release, the band has been busy touring Denmark and Spain.
Steen Rasmussen Quinteto is a seasoned band consisting of some of Denmark's finest musicians. The band has been around for ten years, having released six albums and innumerable tours in Denmark, Spain, Brazil, Ecuador, Columbia, Germany, and France. Over the years, the band has been nominated for a DMA Jazz award for album of the year as well as for two Carl Prisen-awards.
Apart from her award-winning bands, Josefine Cronholm is known for her collaborations with Marilyn Mazur, John Tayler, Django Bates, and ARC. Josefine Cronholm recently released the solo album Ember with Makiko Hirabayashi, Thommy Andersson, Lisbeth Diers, and Torben Snekkerstad. She also lends her voice to the soundtrack of the DR drama series The Killing.
The concert takes place in the foyer of Musikhuset for a seated audience. The maximum capacity is 330, ensuring sufficient space between audiences. Groups are allowed to sit together.
The entrance is located by Musikhuset's cafe with a separate exit. Guests will receive a designated seat in the foyer before entering Musikhuset. Guests are asked to follow the signs as well as instructions by the staff upon arrival.
Drinks are available in the Musikhuset cafe before the show starts.
Guests are encouraged to arrive in good time in order to avoid lines.
