Intense, Energetic Chamber Music with Electric Guitar Vocals

The platform project TUNGEMÅL is about the electric guitar as vocals in a contemporary chamber music context. With this comprehensive project, Solborg wants to challenge and explore the intimate concert experience and develop methods and tools for getting creative. A development, nuance, and awareness of the modern guitar in interaction with acoustic instruments, musical languages, and the spaces in which the music is performed.

How do we talk - alone and with others? ...and can the listener get closer to the creative musician?

For the Aarhus Jazz Festival, Solborg has invited four unique international voices to join the conversation: Japanese Yasuhiro Yoshigaki (Otomo Yoshihide, Zorn, Ground Zero) and percussionist Kumiko Takara (MoGoToYoYo, Nilssen-Love, etc.), Portuguese trumpeter Susana Santos Silva (Braxton, Frith, etc.), and Danish pianist par excellence Simon Toldam (Bennink, Toldam Trio, Efterklang, etc.).

The music is intense, energetic, poetic, powerful, and beautifully dynamically balanced. An extraordinary chamber music experience.
