A Different Type of Church Service
Once again we invite you to a jazz service at St. Luke's Church as part of Aarhus Jazz Festival. Even though this is the 15th time, it's always a new experience when words, music, and church space merge into a sensual whole.
The musicians Pojken Flensborg, Hans Mydtskov, and Torben Bjørnskov lay the musical foundation for an atmospheric and improvised service in which spoken word and music interact. It becomes a whole lot like Jazz 'n' Poetry. The musicians improvise on songs and hymns that revolve around a theme, and along the way, the vicar, Vibeke Houmøller, shares her reflections.
