Modern jazz for the curious
Nordlys is a melodic trio in an unorthodox and modern format, consisting of trumpet, saxophone, and double bass. The band considers music a form of short-term escape from how we deal with the world in our day-to-day. It opens up a special space with room to stop and look around. But Nordlys is not an escape from reality.
For the band, it's a question of choosing how to illuminate reality and the things we sometimes forget to add space and sound to. Through the trio's lucid audio narratives, Nordlys wants to present the audience with a universe that embraces naive and fragile dreams, which, according to the band, are too few and neglected today.
The trio offers all curious souls a concert experience based on compositions born in West Jutland, harbors, and cellars, with views with eternity in mind.
