Experience a musical mosaic with original compositions by Jens Viggo Fjord and signature tunes by Paco de Lucia and Chick Corea.  

Since 2014, Flamenco Jazz Ensemble has - somewhat uniquely on the Danish jazz scene - cultivated the special flamenco jazz sound and let the zeitgeist and diversity unfold through jazz improvisations, flamenco rhythms, and Nordic melodies.

The band has surprised and delighted audiences with a series of concerts across the country and has been praised by critics as "A new sound with fine surprising effects", and "new lines, input, and output - with Flamenco Jazz Ensemble, the two genres really suit each other." 

Flamenco Jazz Ensemble is a fruitful musical encounter between several profiles from different genres:

Argentinian wind-equilibrist Florian Navarro, whose playful and elegant style adds color to the music on clarinet, flute, and sax; Jens Balder, whose trombone playing adds a special warmth; drummer Ulrik Bisgaard, a specialist in Argentinian jazz, flamenco rhythms, and the special rhythm box; the "cajon", Jens Jefsen, a nationally renowned top bassist who has played with countless Danish and international names over several generations; and guitarist Jens Viggo Fjord, who together with exciting Spanish artists has been bringing flamenco to Danish stages for years.
