Fredrik Lundin Overdrive is Revived for Aarhus Jazz Festival

From 2000-2010, Fredrik Lundin led the explosive 11-member Fredrik Lundin Overdrive with two drummers, four trombones, tuba, trumpet, fender rhodes, electric guitar, and the band leader himself on sax, playing expressive and engaging groove jazz.

The band released two albums, Choose Your Boots (2001) and Belly-up / Fredrik Lundin Overdrive Plays The Music of Leadbelly (2004), which both won the Danish Music Awards for Jazz Release of the Year. Despite its size (11 members), the band toured throughout Scandinavia, Germany, and Canada.

The concert at Musikhuset Aarhus will see part of the band reunited and playing music from two of their albums - Lundin's original compositions and Lundin's arrangements of folk / blues legend Leadbelly's songs.

The concert is part of Aarhus Jazz Festival's artist residency 2024, where musicians Emil de Waal and Gustag Ljunggren can be experienced in many different musical contexts as guest artists during the festival.
