Jazzy Notes and Jazzy Words - Trio Høgsbro meets Rune T. Kidde
Trio Høgsbro plays and tells “Nasty Jazzy Fairy Tales”. Let yourself be captivated by “The Three Billy Goats”, “The Little Mermaid”, “Tinker Bell” and “The Dumb Duck”, all played and told with humor and great presence. The trio creates a deeply life-affirming encounter between big swinging jazz and the wild, quirky, and downright crazy universes of poetry!
Jazz has always been wild and hard to pigeonhole, but when Trio Høgsbro adds vocals, music, and bodily sounds to the poet and humorist Rune T. Kidde's stories, both music and lyrics are reborn. It definitely doesn't sound boring. Instead, this concert will infect everyone with a relentless lust for life - which is hard to shake off!
“Since I was a teenager, I've been crazy about Rune T. Kidde's stories", says Jakob Høgsbro, and continues: "Before Rune's untimely death, he and I had a wonderful collaboration for several years, and I have set music to many of Rune's both wild and poetic texts".
Høgsbro narrates and plays the saxophone accompanied by the two exuberant musicians Ida Hvid on double bass and Henrik Nielsen on drums. The target audience is children and their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
After this children's concert on the café stage in Musikhuset Aarhus, you can continue the opening day of the jazz festival by following the street parade through the city streets - starting in Musikhusparken at 11 am.
