True to tradition, Musikhuset invites you to a gala concert during the Aarhus Jazz Festival. It is always a special experience when the excellent Aarhus Jazz Orchestra performs together with an international star in Store Sal. In 2025, the stage is set for a real jazz summer night when the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra presents one of the world's best bassists: American Marcus Miller.

Marcus Miller is considered one of the best and most influential bass players of all time. He is musically unique and has an extensive career. He has won two Grammys, an Edison Award for Lifetime Achievement in Jazz, and was named a UNESCO Artist for Peace.

His distinctive bass sound has provided the soundtrack to a host of music history's greats, from Miles Davis and Luther Vandross to Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, and Elton John.

Anyone who has heard Marcus Miller or seen him perform live knows that you are in for an experience. Miller's powerful jazz / funk bass is in full force, pushing boundaries and taking jazz to a new level. Together with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra, Marcus Miller is sure to excite and challenge the Musikhuset audience, taking them to new heights.

Musikhuset Swings during the Aarhus Jazz Festival

Every year, Jazzgalla is an experience, and Marcus Miller joins the list of big international names who have opened the jazz festival at Musikhuset alongside Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. Curtis Stigers, Eliane Elias, Caro Emerald, Melody Gardot, Jamie Cullum, and David Sanborn have already shared the stage with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.

Under the name Musikhuset Swings, Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and Musikhuset invite you to a whole week of jazz.
