CassetteHeadSessions is Berlin's leading underground community for R&B, soul, and hip hop. Now the band Cassette Heads has arrived in Aarhus and invites you to an unforgettable party! CassetteHeadSessions is based in Berlin, where they elegantly fuse jazz, soul, and hip hop. In Berlin, they host a weekly showcase and jam session with local and international talent backed by the house band, CassetteHeads. The collective has created a unique community centered around a passion for soul music and spontaneous improvisation. For this unofficial closing of Aarhus Jazz Festival 2025, you can expect an evening at Institut for X that starts with a soulful and intimate performance by CHS with up-and-coming Copenhagen R&B artist Samantha Mercano. This will be followed by our signature groove jam session, where everyone is welcome to join in. At midnight, we'll be joined by special guests from the underground hip hop scene, and finally, we invite everyone to vibe and dance with us and the DJs to jazz house music. When Samantha Mercano takes the stage, she has the ability to capture and convey what we all feel but rarely talk about out loud. Her Danish-language songs stem from the vulnerable and universal emotions we carry with us: heartbreak, identity doubts, joy, and guilt. This is music that should not just be heard - it should be felt. Samantha invites the audience into an intimacy and honesty where every thought and every note carries something real. Midnight act: VICTOR ILLAS and KASPER Singer Victor Illas creates progressive and sensitive R&B with vulnerable lyrics and sharp production, which has already earned him attention at Danish venues such as Skråen and Lille Vega. His current single "Sig det en gang til" confirms his status as one of Danish R&B's most exciting new voices. Kasper, rapper, combines sharp lyrics, eccentric flows, and storytelling in a musical universe that blends personal experiences, social criticism, and humor. Inspired by jazz, sou,l and hip-hop, he creates experimental and down-to-earth music that challenges genre norms.
