With a combination of sizzling big band arrangements and Kira Skov's intense vocal interpretations, Billie Holiday's immortal music will be brought to life at Musikhuset during Aarhus Jazz Festival.
Billie Holiday - a voice for generations
Billie Holiday was one of the most important jazz singers of the 20th century. Her unique voice, distinctive phrasing, and ability to convey songs like "Strange Fruit", "God Bless the Child" and "Summertime" have made her a legend. Despite a life of hardship and injustice, she created a musical legacy that continues to move and inspire audiences around the world.

Celebrating Billie Holiday is the main concert at this year's Musikhuset Swings during Aarhus Jazz Festival 2025 and can be experienced four times in the foyer of Musikhuset. At Musikhuset Swings, Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and Musikhuset invite you to a whole week of jazz. There will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy fellowship, tasty treats, and great musical experiences - with free admission to most of the concerts.
