Sam and the Soulmates (DK)

This band is ready for a very special concert with a recent album release

The band is based in the city of smiles, Aarhus, and consists of some of the city's absolute best jazz musicians.

Samara Bahrami (voc) Persian songbird who sings with great intimacy in no less than 8 different languages, Iranian / Farsi as the latest flavor. Samara also composes original songs, which the band interpreted and released on With The Boys (2025).

Theo Hjorth (p) is the newest member of Soulmates and one of the best Latin pianists in Denmark. While studying at the prestigious soloist program at the Royal Academy of Music, he is also active in many successful bands, where the joys of dance bubble over into the wildness and warmth of the keys. Theo beautifully balances this side with the gentle and understated, quirky, warm, and intense when he plays in this group.

Bjarne Slipsager (sax): A versatile and experienced saxophonist from South Jutland, who brings even more charm and magic to the band. With more than 30 years of experience from all over the world and a diverse back catalog, he loves to play along and add his Southern Jutland charm to everything from standard repertoire to highly experimental music.

Morten Haugshøj (g): A brilliant jazz guitarist with several original recordings to his credit, most recently the critically acclaimed follow-up to The Street Doctor, Double Up. With his distinctive sound and towering technical ability, he adds a distinct flavor to the group. Whether sitting back on a few tracks or playing duets with the singer, he always brings a high level of virtuosity. 

Mathias Gregersen (b): A super exciting bassist with great talent and musicality. A conservatory-trained bassist who excels in many different groups and genres, bringing original compositions, steady and modern bass playing, and a myriad of arrangements and subtleties that define the group's sound.

Kristoffer Lysgaard (dr): A jet-setting drummer who shines behind the kit with a virtuosity that few others can match. His countless gigs have made him a sought-after drummer who masters many different genres. In this band, the many facets come into their own, allowing Kristoffer to take the music to new heights.
